Black Rivers Interview

Supporting Noel Gallagher on his UK tour and the debut album 'Black Rivers' released 9th Feb, I interviewed Black Rivers on the new album, reforming a new band and what it's like knowing you are touring with Noel Gallagher.

Coming from being in a band (The Doves), what is it like reforming a new band?

No preconceptions, no baggage, no expectations...in other words...it's great!

What have been your influences for the new album?

Everything from Kraftwerk to Nick Drake. Didn't think it was possible to have that much diversity on the same album? Well I defo think we pulled it off (in my humble opinion) 

What are your favourite tracks from the debut album?

Keeps changing but presently 'Age of the Innocence'

What are your touring essentials?

Tour bus pillow, ear plugs, good wine and comedy DVD's

What is it like knowing you will be supporting Noel Gallagher on his tour?

Brilliant, slightly nervous but always filled with anticipation 

Have you got any festivals lined up this year?

Yes there will be plenty, it's early days we're doing SXSW (USA) and Deer Shed (North Yorkshire) so far

If you could pick three people (bands) that would headline your dream festival who would they be?

Kraftwerk (Original line up), Led Zep and The Velvet Underground
