I am The Great Kimono Dragon

Hope you enjoy the quote from Mulan, one of my fav Disney films showing that you don't have to be changed from a slave to a princess to be recognised.

I have been after a more vibrant kimono that is almost unique but not expensive. Being handy on a sewing machine I considered making one from scratch. Then I came across a video tutorial which shows you how to turn a scarf (a large one) into a kimono.

1) get a scarf and put it potrait on a surface
2) fold it in half so it looks like a book but landscape
3) find half way of the scarf and cut up ONLY ON THE TOP PIECE OF THE SCARF NOT THE BOTTOM HALF
4) you will then have basically a kimono with no arms
5) now sew up to just over half way on both sides of the scarf - the distance from the top of the scarf to where you stop sewing will be where you put your arms

And that's it!
If you struggle and would prefer a visual version just google "how to make a kimono from a scarf"
