With the new EP 'Urban Glow' set to be released in May, I interviewed Tom (Bass Player from TRASH) about the new EP and how picking a favorite song is as hard as choosing your favorite emoji...
1) how would you describe your new EP in three words?
Bloody heck, 3 words... It's a lengthy EP, so if I could put that into 3 words it would have to be "Up-Town-Funk"
2) Do you have any influences from other bands?
We listen to music all the time in the car, we've had a massive Taylor Swift hype recently, so probably Taylor, she isn't really a band but you get the idea. Peace's new album is great, I guess they're sort of an influence. I'm gonna go with Wu Tang Clan, ABBA, Babies and John Power Acoustic.
3) Why should people buy your new EP?
They should buy it because my mum and dad love it, and they're pretty cool, so.
4) Who came up with the EP name?
The name is from a song we wrote when we'd been together about 3 weeks, but it's a good song, we had to put it on the EP because it's been with us for so long, then we realised "Urban Glow" had some cool imagery and shit behind it, so I guess we all chose it for the name of the EP, but Dan wrote the song so let him have that one.
5) What is your favorite track from the New EP?
Can't answer that one, it'd be like choosing your favorite Emoji.
6) Festival season is soon upon on us. Are you playing any festivals? What would your dream festival lineup be?
We have big festies to announce, but sworn to secrecy for now unfortunately, but stay tuned. Dream festival lineup? I'll choose 3 headliners. Erm, Kendrick Lamar, Jason Derulo and Usher.
